THANKSGIVING IS ALMOST HERE!

With the holiday's quickly approaching, it's time to order those holiday desserts.
Floozies is featuring a wide range of pies, cakes, & cookies.
Let us take some of the pressure off by doing the baking for you.
All that we ask for is 48 hours notice. 

Here is a sampling of what we will be offering:
Pies
  apple, caramel apple pecan, cherry-cranberry-pecan, coconut cream, coconut, chocolate cream,
XXX chocolate, chocolate bourbon pecan walnut, fall harvest(apple, pear, cherry), key lime,
mixed berry, lemon meringue, classic pecan, maple pecan, rainforest crunch, pumpkin,
sweet potato w/ bourbon.

Cakes
  coconut, carrot, fresh apple nut, fresh ginger, flourless chocolate, torta di nona, italian apple,
lemon almond, cheesecake, chocolate peanut butter,  white fruit cake(1 weeks notice)

Cookies/Bars
bittersweet & white chocolate chip with walnuts, double chocolate pecan, peanut butter,
oatmeal raisin, c'raisin oatmeal, almond toffee bars, cherry winks, magic bars, chocolate brownies
macaroons

Misc.
...quiche, scones, biscuits, obrigado's house bread,  pie crust unbaked and ready to roll.

THE CHILL IS IN THE AIR

Well it's that time of year when the leaves start to turn, apple cider is mulling, and thoughts of
the approaching holidays are on our minds. 
This season let Floozies take some of the pressure off.  We can supply the pies, cookies,  cakes
for the holidays.  We will start taking orders soon for thanksgiving.

starting off to be a beautiful morning!

This Thursday, Sept. 29, we will be participating in a fundraiser for the Fluvanna-Louisa Housing Foundation
to help Earthquake & Hurricane Relief Victims.   Floozies will be donating $1 for every whole sweet pie we sell.  If there is a particular pie that you would like to pick up that day,  please call by 12 noon on Wednesday Sept. 28.  We hope to sell many pies for this event.

This week at Floozies Pie Shop we have a delicious assortment of sweet pies available, we sell them whole and by the slice.
Apple, Lemon Meringue,  Strawberry Rhubarb, Key Lime, Bluberry, Cherry Coconut Almond Crumb, Chocolate Cherry Truffle, XXX Chocolate, "no sugar added" Apple Pear, Lemon Chess, and Pucker Up and Kiss Me Lemon.

My personal favorite is the XXX Chocolate pie, mostly because I love chocolate, but If you are interested in fruit pie I recomend the Strawberry Rhubarb, it is wonderfully sweet and tart.  

We always offer savory pies for lunch. This week we have: Pepperoni onion and 2 cheese calzone, Chicken Pot Pie, BBQ Pork Pie, and a Bacon cheddar pepper and onion Quiche.   
All the savory pies come with a small side salad.

the ag fair was fun.  I have never judged a baking contest before.  I did pick up on a few things that can help
you if you enter a contest.   if you are doing something with chocolate, and the weather is hot  see if there will
be a cooler to hold your product before judging.  if not pick up a cheap styro cooler with some ice & bring it
as a judge this will make it easier to judge. i mean some of the chocolate items looked like the cows had already been there....if you know what I'm saying.  i was just glad none tasted like they looked.

OOPS!

It has come to my attention, that the yellow peach pie, we sold last week, was not up to par with our other pies: for this I apologize.  I have corrected the problem and hope that the next peach pies will be better.

I have been informed that the summer white peach & vanilla pie was delicious. 

Feed back is important to me. It allows me to correct, avoid. potential problems in the future.
It is also important to receive compliments.

GRAND OPENING A SUCCESS

Our grand opening was a success.
Members of the chamber stopped by to wish us well.
Our resident floozie, M.F.HOH worked the crowd.
Everyone enjoyed apple pie, punch, & coffee.  Sales of whole pies were brisk.

Karaoke was fun and we had several stars,  Elvis, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Queen, and many others.
